Software Pirates Jailed

The law has finally grown some teeth and jailed three British men for helping to break security codes.

The three men gained no financial reward for their part in the fraud that is believed to have cost the software industry billions of dollars.

This Associated Press report explains…

They may see themselves as latter-day Robin Hoods, stealing from the rich to give to the poor, but in reality it is a cover for fraud, prosecutor Bruce Houlder told the Old Bailey Criminal Court during the trial. Computers are their universe. They live and breathe a world of computer software.

Keylogging - New Criminal Trick

Keylogging is the new buzzword when it comes to those trying to scam internet users out of sensitive information.

E-mail messages can be designed to deliver a malicious program without opening an attachment. Web sites can silently place keyloggers on unsuspecting users machines.
