Bank Was Aware of Credit Fraud
Australias largest bank raised the alarm last September about the theft of data from credit and debit cards by hackers in the United States, and the warning was relayed to the FBI, a government minister said Wednesday.
Almost nine months ago notification was given to authorities in regards to this fraud but it has only surfaced now as an issue…surely we should expect better than this!
But Treasurer Peter Costello, Australi’s ranking finance minister, told parliament he and Justice Minister Chris Ellison only became aware of the fraud through media reports this week.
Clearly we have a communication problem here how long does it take to investigate an issue as serious as this.
