Yahoo expanding publishing network
In a bid to expand its advertising reach, Yahoo Inc said late on Tuesday it is recruiting small and medium-sized Web site operators to join its publisher network that pays Internet sites to carry ads.
The move by Yahoo, which until now has focused on big sites, comes as it battles Google Inc for dominance in the global Web search advertising market that is expected to be worth $8 billion to $10 billion this year.
As part of the expansion, Yahoo is releasing a test version of a self-service Web site where online publishers can sign up for Yahoo’s Content Match product that serves ads related to Web site content.
This could be good news for many it is a virtual competitor for Google Adsense.
Im not quite sure how one applies for or qualifies to join its publisher network but research will continue until we can get a determination.
